Handling Head Lice and the Treatments for it
Head lice is one of those
things that you do not want to deal with on a regular basis,
but let’s say that your child comes home from school and
they ended up with this terrible parasite on their head –
well, in this article we will explore some ways to handle
head lice and some of the treatments for it.
Head lice is one of the most disgusting parasites you will
probably ever run into and they are extremely annoying to
the infested child they are perched on top of. A head louse
feeds off of human scalp many times a day and whenever they
bite on the scalp it causes an itching sensation. This is
the first sign of your child having head lice, chronic
itching.
Head lice can be seen with the naked eye and while they may
be small, white/flesh color and quick, they are visible and
if you part the hair with a comb you should be able to tell
if your child does, in fact have head lice. Head lice are a
very easy thing to treat, so there is no reason to panic.
Now when you are treating head lice there are many different
treatments to choose from, you can choose to take your child
to the doctor and get a prescription or you can opt for the
over-the-counter head lice treatment. Whichever one you
choose, be sure to read the instructions so you know just
what the treatment kills. There are many different head lice
treatments that just treat live head lice and do not treat
nits (head lice eggs).
Now that you have picked your treatment and applied it, you
will to keep checking your child’s head for head lice for
the next week or two. Head lice can reappear and you may
have to do another treatment, which is something to be aware
of when you are dealing with head lice.
There you have it, all the ways to handle and treat head
lice – be sure that you get a treatment that kills not only
live head lice but also the nits (head lice eggs) and also
beware that head lice can reappear, so you will have to keep
checking your child’s head, also don’t panic, head lice is
common among kids and it is important for you to stay calm
for your child.
