Pediculosis is Head Lice find out more!
When it comes to a child
getting head lice, it can be a complete nightmare for the
parent, in this article we will explore what head lice is
and how you can prevent it from entering your home.
One of the first things you will need to understand is that
head lice is extremely contagious, it can be passed from one
childs head to another with just a small brush of their
heads together. Head lice are also extremely small so there
is no real way to detect head lice until you see some of the
signs. Some of the signs of head lice include a tickling
feeling in the hair, very frequent itching and finally sores
visible on the back of the neck and scalp from the
scratching.
Some things you can do to prevent head lice from entering
your home is to warn your child about head lice and how
terrible it is. The more knowledge your child has about the
subject, the more likely you will not have any problems. For
instance, if you tell them that head lice can be shared
between children by a hair brush, they will make sure to not
share their hair brush with anyone. Just keep in mind that
personal hygiene has absolutely nothing to do with getting
head lice you could take a shower three times a day and
still end up with head lice.
Another preventation you could take is just to watch your
child see him or her interact with their friends and be
sure to keep head-to-head contact to non-existant. Enroll
them in sports (if they want to take up sports) that have
helmets or if they do not have helmets, be sure that the
coach is keeping an eye on all the players.
Another great idea to keep head lice out of your house is to
set up a phone tree with all the parents in the neighborhood
this way, if one child gets head lice the rest of the
parents are alerted and can keep their children away until
the head lice is gone.
In this article we went over a few tips and tricks to
prevent head lice from entering your home and we went over
exactly what head lice is just keep in mind that the more
you educate your child, the better your chances are of not
having to handle head lice at all.
