Treating lice with Malathion
One thing to know about
treating head lice is that there are many different
treatments to try, in this article though, we will be
exploring treating head lice via the Malathion treatment.
First, you may be curious to see exactly what the Malathion
treatment is and why it may be better than all the other
treatments, well, the Malathion treatment for head lice is
the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved treatment
for head lice. Malathion lotion has been approved in the
United States as a safe and all around fantastic treatment
for head lice, this may be one of the best treatments on the
market today.
Next, you may be wondering how exactly do you use Malathion
lotion. Well, you always want to make sure that you are
following all of the directions on the back or written on
the inside of the label – this will make everything easier
and will ensure that you are using this product correctly
for head lice. After reading the directions, you want to go
ahead and carefully apply the lotion to dry hair until the
entire scalp and hair itself is pretty wet, paying close
attention behind the ears and to the back of the neck/head.
It may be a good idea to do this treatment just before bed
because you do need to leave it on for over eight hours –
just be sure to cover the pillows and mattress so the lotion
does not stain anything. Next, after the treatment has20been
sitting on your head for over eight hours, go ahead and have
someone comb through your hair, looking for any other sign
of head lice and removing all the dead head lice. You want
to be sure to use a nit comb, as this will get all the head
lice eggs out of your hair – you will want to keep checking
your head every two or three days for a few weeks as well.
Although a head louse does not live long after they fall off
your scalp, you want to be sure as soon as you are diagnosed
with head lice that you treat it right away. A Head louse is
a pesky annoyance that does not spread disease, but can get
your scalp infected from all the scratching you will be
doing.
So there you have it, the treatment for head lice via
malathion, just be sure that you read the directions, leave
the lotion on for an extended period of time and check your
head constantly for new head lice and it should be treated
in just a matter of days!
