Treatments for head lice
When it comes to head lice,
there are many different treatments available out there, in
this article we will explore of few of those options and
what treatments would be best for a child with head lice.
So you have determined that your child does in fact have
head lice. Although a head louse is very treatable, it is
still annoying for you and your child. One of the very first
things you will need to do when you find out that your child
has head lice is to decide whether or not you are going to
get a prescription treatment or not. There are many
prescription treatments that are simply amazing and work
wonderfully, but there are also a whole lot of
over-the-counter treatments that will work in just the same
way and you will not have to take a trip to the doctor’s
office.
Now, if you happen to opt for the prescription head lice
treatment then all you need to do is read the directions and
you should be good to go! Most of the time, prescription
treatments are lotions or creams and they can not usually be
washed out for at least eight hours. If you happen to choose
the over-the-counter treatment, there are many options for
you to choose from. There are shampoos, lotions and
conditioners that will all fight and get rid of head lice.
While head lice are treatable, there are a few things that
you can do to prevent head lice from ever getting on your
child’s head. Firstly, monitoring their activities is one of
the greatest things you can do – head lice can be passed
back and forth if your child is in any head-to-head or
hair-to-hair contact activities.
Another thing you can do to prevent head lice from ever
getting on your child’s head is to be sure that you let them
know not to share any of their hair brushes, combs, hair
accessories, scarves or hats. This is another way that head
lice can go from one head to another head.
There you have it, all of the ways that you can treat head
lice as well as prevent it, just be sure that you are
monitoring your child’s activities and that is not
head-to-head or hair-to-hair contact and that they are not
sharing their items with anyone and you should have no
issues with head lice!
