Lice Cures That May
Actually Prevent Head Lice
Hi there,
With head lice being a
major problem for some families, especially during the
school year, many mothers want to know of lice cures
that can actually help prevent their children getting head
lice to begin with.
There are no full proof
preventative lice cures, but there are some steps you can
take that may help reduce the chance of your child bringing
home head lice. The first thing you should do is to teach
your child that they should never share personal items such
as brushes, hats and other types of hair accessories with
other children. This is the number one-way in which head
lice is passed from one person to another.
Another preventative measure you can take would be to check
your child’s head weekly, to ensure that they do not have
any signs of head lice. Although this will not prevent a
louse from taking up residence on your child’s head, it will
help you discover the problem before it gets out of hand.
Once head lice is a problem in your home, it can be very
difficult to get rid of, so if your child does pick it up at
school, it is much better to catch it early, rather than
later.
In addition, there are some
home remedies that are said to help prevent head lice from
making their home in your hair. The following preventative
lice cures may reduce the chance of a head lice problem if
used regularly.
Coconut oil Shampoo and Conditioner. Many people believe
that regular use of shampoo and conditioner that contains
coconut oil will keep the lice of your head. Coconut oil
appears to repel head lice and could be among the permanent
lice cures.
Other preventative lice cure methods you can try include,
using shampoo and conditioner that contain olive oil, or tea
tree oil. By using these natural measures to prevent lice
form showing up in the first place, you can save yourself a
lot of frustration and trouble later.
If you should find live
head lice or nits in your child’s hair, think hard before
trying some of the chemical based lice cures.
Chemical based treatments can be dangerous for children as
well as adults, especially if they are over used.
Unfortunately their overuse tends to happen much more
frequently today, as these chemical treatments are no longer
as effective as they once were.
A better alternative would
be to try a natural treatment as lice cures. Use mayonnaise,
or olive oil on your child’s head, saturating the hair. Wrap
the hair in a towel or cover with a shower cap and let sit
for several hours. Wash the hair and use a lice removal comb
on it. This should be repeated several times over the next
couple of weeks.
These natural lice cures seem to be far better at treating
head lice, without the toxins.
